Known only as Kamil to close friends, DJ & Producer Nymed has established himself as a pillar of the queer nightlife community in Paris. Hailing from the Flemish coastal town of Dunkirk in the north of France, Nymed discovered techno and its variant strains at a very young age from trips to neighboring cities such as Ghent, Brussels & Rotterdam. Motivated from these early ventures, Nymed’s party series ‘Conceptual Violence’ was born. Organized in blockhouses from the second World War on the coastline of Dunkirk, the concept for the function was simple: to reappropriate & transform a place of war into a place of celebration, joy, & love. From this series of events, the podcast of the same name took shape, which has featured a growing roster of acclaimed international talent.

After relocating to Paris in 2019, Nymed has honed in on his production skills, heavily influenced from the established queer scene. After having played for the biggest event institutions in the city such as Spectrum, Myst, Flash Cocotte & Mess, Nymed is now ready to deliver ‘Vassau’ - a four track EP of rhythmic, all-groove Techno tracks inspired from the queer, sexually liberated Parisian club atmospheres of today along with two intense remixes from Oliver Deutschmann and False Witness.

“Vassau" is its own proper mental universe: dark and festive simultaneously, the title track is representative of Nymed’s DJ style that is both dubby, hypnotic, fast, and sexually charged. “Edging On The Roof” leans further into hypnotic and trippy territory, inspired from timeless old school techno records. “There Is No Return” was one of the first tracks that caught label manager False Witness’ attention. The heavy rhythm paired with the laser sharp synth work became a peak club time favorite for False Witness at parties like Berghain’s Lab Dance or warehouse raves in NYC, and demanded its own dark, EBM infused remix. “Insanity” represents Nymed’s penchant for quirky melodies that play well in large clubs and small dark rooms alike. Rounding out the record is a technically advanced remix of the title track by Berlin’s own Oliver Deutschmann, a seasoned veteran DJ and producer known for thrashing big rooms with his grandiose brand of techno.
